According to Fortune's Southeast Asia 500 2026 ranking, Vietnam continues to make its mark with the strong rise of many large enterprises.

Vingroup - Vietnam's largest private corporation increased from 37th to 26th position with revenue of 12.8 billion USD, growing 69%, thereby entering the group of 9 fastest growing enterprises in the entire ranking.

This breakthrough brought the group's market capitalization to 66.7 billion USD, becoming the third largest listed company in the region, only after DBS and OCBC of Singapore.

Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) for the first time ranked 148th with revenue of 2.3 billion USD, being one of the three new Vietnamese enterprises to join this year's ranking, along with PC1 Group and Construction Corporation No. 1, reflecting the expansion of Vietnam's industrial platform.

Seven countries continue to be present in the 2026 ranking, but the ranking has changed. Thailand surpassed Indonesia to become the country with the most representatives with 105 businesses, compared to 104 Indonesian businesses. Meanwhile, Singapore still leads in revenue with 657.6 billion USD from 82 businesses, accounting for 35% of total revenue in the ranking.

Petrovietnam continues to hold the 11th position, being the only Vietnamese representative in the top 20 enterprises with the largest revenue in the region. Vietnam has 72 enterprises in this year's ranking, while Malaysia has 93 enterprises, the Philippines has 42 enterprises and Cambodia has 2 enterprises.

Commenting on the ranking results, Mr. Andrew Staples - Asia Regional Editor of Fortune said that this year's Southeast Asia 500 shows that the region is gradually getting rid of dependence on commodity industries. According to him, the focus of businesses is shifting to the financial and technology sectors and the emergence of a new generation of "national champions".

Mr. Andrew Staples also emphasized that Vietnam is adapting very successfully to the new environment, reflected in positive economic growth as well as the achievements of Vietnamese businesses in this year's ranking.
