As part of the official agenda, a Vietnamese delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, along with Petrovietnam representatives, held bilateral talks with the Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia. The Vietnam-Armenia relationship is built on a solid foundation, with diplomatic relations officially established in 1992. Over more than 30 years, the two countries have continuously advanced both bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of energy, industry, and trade. Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) presents favorable conditions for trade with Vietnam under the Vietnam - EAEU Free Trade Agreement.

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Mậu affirmed that Petrovietnam sees numerous opportunities for collaboration with Armenian enterprises, especially in renewable energy and oil and gas infrastructure development. In this bilateral partnership, Armenia can offer and share technologies and expertise in clean energy, while Petrovietnam can support Armenia in implementing oil and gas as well as energy projects.

He expressed hope that through the forum, the two governments will actively support and create enabling conditions for businesses on both sides to explore collaboration opportunities, maximize mutual potential, and achieve shared economic benefits.

The Vietnam National Energy and Industrial Group (Petrovietnam) was established in 1975 with the mission of contributing to national energy security and serving as an economic pillar in the country’s development. Petrovietnam currently holds consolidated assets of nearly USD 43 billion, including approximately USD 23 billion in equity. The Group consistently makes significant contributions to the national budget, accounting for around 9% of total government revenue. Petrovietnam focuses on five core business areas: oil and gas exploration and production, gas industry, oil refining and petrochemicals, power and renewable energy, and high-quality petroleum technical services. The Group operates across the full energy value chain—from upstream and midstream to downstream—with numerous key projects such as drilling rigs, gas pipelines, power plants, and fuel distribution systems.
