PV Drilling and Baker Hughes Ink Deal to Deepen Drilling Services Cooperation

The TAD-PV DRILLING V rig was honored the “Rig of the year” title for the second consecutive year

PV DRILLING VI is the latest generation jack-up drilling rig and an upgraded version of Keppel FELS' MOD V B Class design, capable of drilling up to 9,000m at a maximum water depth of 121m, with a maximum combined cantilever load of up to 2,500 kips (1,134 MT) and many other advanced technical features. The rig is designed with modern equipment systems that meet the stringent standards of the international oil and gas industry. Since its commercial operation in February 2015, the PV DRILLING VI has continuously demonstrated operational efficiency and safety. Specifically, in 2024, the rig operated with an efficiency of 99.85% and achieved a milestone of 10 consecutive years of Zero LTI.

Over the past period, despite facing numerous challenges related to personnel changes, work culture, and safety awareness with various clients in different countries, through professionalism and resilience, the PV DRILLING VI has successfully carried out all drilling campaigns in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, creating added value for clients with high-quality services at competitive prices.

Among the achievements of the PV DRILLING VI rig in the Southeast Asian market in 2024, it is necessary to mention the significant contribution to the overall success when client Petronas' Amaryllis-1 well achieved the lowest drilling cost, recognized and honored by the Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM). This achievement clearly demonstrates the professionalism and outstanding capabilities of the drilling rig management and operations team of PVD Drilling Division in particular and PV Drilling in general, on the journey to establish a presence in the Malaysian and regional markets.

As a pioneering drilling contractor in “to go elsewhere for competition” and taking Vietnam's drilling services to the Southeast Asian market, safety plays an extremely important role in all of PV Drilling's business activities, serving as a solid foundation for other operations. Therefore, it can be affirmed that the 10 consecutive years of Zero LTI achievement of the PV DRILLING VI rig is not only a significant milestone but also a motivation for PV Drilling to continue pursuing the goal of sustainable development.

On this special occasion, PV Drilling's President and CEO Nguyen Xuan Cuong sent a congratulatory letter to the Board of Management and employees of PVD Drilling Division, PVD Overseas, PVD Malaysia, the Corporation's HSEQ Division, and especially to the management team and workers on the PV DRILLING VI rig.
